Basement bathroom reveal

Our basement bathroom has been tiled, painted, plumbed in and polished so it's about time for a reveal. It also means it's just about time to sell our house. :(

We've loved living here, but it's been almost two years and we're ready to take on our next adventure -- building our own home. We have yet to score a lot, but we did put in an offer on one today. We're just waiting to hear back from the seller.

So, without further ado, here is our "somewhat before" picture:

And our after photos:

I'd been itchin' to use a bold colour as the rest of our house is very neutral. The basement bathroom seemed like the perfect place to add a bright splash of robin's egg blue. The paint colour is Lagoon by Martha Stewart.

The one not-so-perfect choice here was the mirror. The scale doesn't quite mesh with the vanity and light fixture. However, it was an absolute steal at Homesense, and it is a basement bathroom, so I wasn't prepared to dish out mucho dinero on it. It's big enough to serve its purpose if you're brushing your teeth or beautifying in general. I love the extra sparkle the mirrored frame adds.

We picked up the sink and vanity at Ikea. I liked its modern shape and the little tray and hooks that came with it. The vanity has two shelves offering overnight guests plenty of space to store their toiletries.

So that's the last of our short list of renos that came with buying a new house avec an unfinished basement. The rest of the basement although finished, is not furnished, so I haven't added photos -- pictures of empty rooms just aren't particularly exciting. I think we'll make up for that as we start chronicling the design/decoration of our next home.
