And now there's a new kid on the block that's sure to have me opening my wallet and furnishing the empty corners of our new home. Metric Design Centre is chock full of the kind of fabulous furniture I see in magazines/on TV that I assume: A. I'd have to buy online from the U.S., Europe, etc, and B. is hopelessly out of my snack bracket.
I checked out the new digs yesterday and could literally feel my heart beating a little faster with excitement - even more so when I discovered that this beautiful stuff was reasonably priced.
The employee I spoke with was super friendly and helpful, and when I asked if I could snap a few photos to show my husband some ideas she said it was definitely not a faux pas.
So here it is...you can see for yourself why I was going gaga over this place.
As I mentioned in an earlier post, we're still on the lookout for a TV console. Although this sideboard is a little too wide for our space, I was told it was a custom piece - meaning I could have something similar made to my own specifications. I'm loving the mirrored panels and lucite knobs. Very tempting.
I am crazy about herringbone. Or as my friend Melanie might say, I'm "coo coo for cocoa puffs" over it. Lately I've been seeing the pattern on wood floors, but it's not too shabby as a kitchen back splash either. In fact, I think I'd take this over the flooring. As our house is new and has a great metallic tile back splash, I'm mentally filing this idea away for a future home.
*Sigh* I heart colourful pillows. I also heart this turquoise chair.
This photo wasn't taken at Metric, but they did carry a similar version of this wonderfully whimsical peacock pillow. Turquoise Chair + Peacock Pillow = LOVE :)
