PEI Cycling Trip - Day One

You'd think I was back in Saskatchewan based on the above picture taken during my PEI bike trip.

Saskabush is not the only province with fields of wheat - it turns out PEI has quite a few, and we even spotted some bright yellow canola fields on the island. I couldn't be bothered to pull out the camera for the canola, as I literally took hundreds of canola photos during my photography class at Kenderdine.

The bike trip was a great way to see the beautiful northeast coast of PEI.

After one false start from Annandale (we biked about 1 km from the bike outfitter and the chain fell off Mary's bike), we hit the road and cycled 25 km in the rain through the province to St. Peter's Bay on the north side where we spent the night at the Inn at St. Peters.  The Inn has gorgeous gardens, a beautiful view of the bay and spectacular hospitality.  As someone who isn't good with names, I was particularly impressed by the fact that all the employees would greet us by name.

The dining room was in the main building, and we stayed in one of the cottages below.

As we were rained on on day one, and for the morning of day two, I was very happy my panniers came with rain covers.
