While saying my goodbyes in Ottawa, I told family, friends and coworkers that the door is always open in Saskatoon if they'd like to come visit us.
Reactions to my offer were quite varied. Family, of course, were eager to visit us...it wouldn't matter if we'd moved to Timbuktu. Quite a few friends said they'd be paying us a visit as well. Others joked that they would visit if their plane happened to crash in the Prairies on their way to B.C.
Naysayers and cynics...this blog post is dedicated to you!
From time to time I'll be posting some of the many reasons you need to visit us in Saskatchewan.
Reason #1: We have
yurts!
On Saturday, we checked out the grand opening of
Flora Bora Forest Lodging.
Karen and Justin Wasylyk have created a cosy getaway near Emma and Christopher Lake (about 1 hour 45 min north of Saskatoon). Their two yurts (Yeti and Betty) are beautifully furnished and ready for visitors.
I'll let the photos speak for themselves.

| yurts - thataway! |
| The Yeti Yurt |
| Both yurts have well-stocked kitchenettes |
| The yurts have an ample deck area and a barbeque for al fresco dining |
| Justin built quite a bit of the furniture - including this gorgeous bed |
| Joe & Bev |
| The yurts are open concept - only the bathrooms are enclosed |
| Many of the furnishings are repurposed/reclaimed - this school house pendant light was purchased at Habitat for Humanity's ReStore |
| Betty's Abode |
| Each yurt has a skylight in the centre |
| I love the live edge shelving in the kitchen |
| Karen & Justin have thought of everything - love the matching bathrobes |
