Toronto Shopping Trip - Part I

Blame it on my House & Home subscription, or my addiction to HGTV (anything with Sarah Richardson), but for the last few months I've been wanting to take a trip to Toronto to check some of their fabulous interior decor shops. I was sent there for work from Wednesday to Friday so I decided to stay for the weekend as well. Mom also came along as she was looking for a dining table for their new home in Ottawa.

A few days before leaving, I put together a list of twenty stores to visit - some labelled as 'must sees' and others as 'nice to see.'

At the top of my 'must see' list was Teatro Verde in Yorkville. The two story shop is one of the most gorgeous decor shops I've ever visited.  I don't think I've ever written the word 'sumptuous' before (or spoke it aloud for that matter)...but I think this is the ideal word to describe the lovely decor.

Next on the itinerary was Anthropologie - just a few shops East on the same street as Teatro Verde. Anthropologie is a dangerous mix of beautiful clothes, accessories AND home decor - I was in heaven.

Now, it's probably a good thing I was flying home as that forced me to be sensible and practical - you have to question just how much you can fit into your luggage. I drooled over gorgeous aprons and oven mitts, but emptied my wallet for two dresses, a skirt and a shirt instead.

One of the dresses I bought is a bit of a tribute to my east coast upbringing...

LOBSTERS!! :)

To be continued....
